How is The Spirit a neo noir film?
i dont really understand neo noir too much. In what ways is The Spirit Neo-noir?
Whoever is teaching your course doesn’t know crap about movies. Neither of those films are neo noir and the Spirit sucks.
Dark City is good neo noir movie. It starts with a guy who is sucked into a murder plot with him as the main suspect. He is pursued by the actual murderers and manages to defeat them.
I think you could argue that District 9 is a noir film, because the main character is unlike-able at first but we learn to like him as he runs away from the authorities. The Fugitive is another noir film.

Neo Noir are always Dark crime films and usually involve an Anti-hero.
